Hello, my lovely readers! How are you this fine summer morning? Ready for school yet? :) I start in mid-August, and I'm super excited to get started on this next scene in my life! Recently I was approached online by Brian Magida on the marketing team for a glasses company called Warby Parker . This is a high fashion glasses designer, with shapes and colors that really bring only one word to my mind: hipster. Honestly, the majority of their frames aren't really my style, so I almost said no to their request for a blog post. But then I found out about some of their charity work/partners and their Home Try-On program, and figured, why not? Then I discovered, while working on this post, that the company (a) was started by readers, (b) was named after characters from their favorite author's works, and (c) sells books alongside their glasses in their physical stores. Hello, my lovely readers! Sorry for the absence last week. With graduation looming and my jobs getting crazy, I completely forgot to post. But I remembered this week! New this week: I'm going on a missions trip! Maybe. If I can raise the funds in time, I'll be going with my church's adult missions trip group to the Dominican Republic. The trip is scheduled for Friday, July 18 through Friday, July 25. To earn money for the trip, I'm working several jobs this summer and selling handmade necklace pendants. Lately, my friends Cait and Mime over at Notebook Sisters have been posting with the Top Ten Lists prompts. I'm not into blog prompts, but I thought it'd be fun to make my own Top Ten list this month. I've been getting things ready for college this fall -- including the books I plan to take with me -- and a lot of those books are my favorite kids' books (goes with the Elementary Education major, you know). So I thought I'd share them with you! Some of these were my favorites when I was a kid; others are my favorite children's books now.
