I've been wanting to talk about a few things, so I decided to scrap a theme or topic for this post and just talk about life. :) Here we go...
First of all, I am dying to get that package! What package, you ask? Well... I recently WON A GIVEAWAY for Replication by Jill Williamson. It shouldn't be a surprise, since I entered every giveaway on the web, regardless of whether I'd ever heard of the blog or not. BUT IT'S STILL AN AWESOME BOOK AND I CAN'T WAIT TO READ IT! (Had to get that out of my system.) Also, the author has won the Christy award for previous books, and that is the Olympic gold medal of Christian literature in my book. Honestly, there are a lot of cool, awe-inspiring, and/or prestigious medals in the literary and poetry worlds, but the number one medal I adore (and dream of the unlikely possibility of winning) is the Christy award. I own the Christy book, television show, and movies - all of 'em. So if this woman won the Christy award, and this book already sounds so awesome, I simply have to read it. HAVE TO.
More news: I'm currently reading the Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter. I read book two, Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy, as an audio book from my local virtual library. I loved it so much I wanted to finish the series, but I figured I should probably go back and read the beginning. I finished it last night, so now I'm just waiting to get the third book, Don't Judge a Girl By Her Cover.
My WIP (work-in-progress, for writers in this case) is currently on hold as I finish polishing and shining a story I wrote a while back. It's only a novella, but I'm hoping to eventually get it actually published, and I wanted a break from my WIP. I don't do very well sticking to the same story for too long, and I've been working on my WIP since NaNo.
Also, I'll be in the Easter drama at my church soon. I got the part of Woman 2, aka the woman with the issue of blood who touched Jesus' robe and was healed. (Matthew 9: 20-22; Luke 8: 43-48; Mark 5: 25-34) It's a part with fewer lines than most, so it shouldn't be too hard to learn. Also, it's a bigger part than the non-speaking angel I was for the Christmas program (although our song parts were really fun and I loved all the glitter involved. The eyeliner... not so much.)
Anyway, how are my lovely readers' lives going? Who's reading what? Anybody else currently reading/waiting to read Replication or an Ally Carter book?
