[Giveaway] The Swan Princess: Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today!

Sony Home Video provided me with some of the materials I used in this Blog Post/Giveaway. The opinions I share are my own.

I grew up watching the animated Swan Princess series based on the Swan Lake ballet. This included The Swan Princess, The Swan Princess and the Secret of the Castle, and The Swan Princess and the Mystery of the Enchanted Treasure. It's been more than a few years since my last viewing, so my recollection is fuzzy, but I remember thinking the turtle and frog sidekicks were hilarious.

Basically, the first movie follows the basic plot of Swan Lake, while the others introduce and defeat new villains.

In 2012, The Swan Princess Christmas was released, which was the first in the series to use CG animation. I haven't watched this one. In 2014, I apparently also missed the Swan Princess: A Royal Family Tale addition to the franchise, in which the now-married Odette and Derek adopt a daughter, who is kidnapped and requires her new family to rescue her.

The latest adventure in Odette and Derek's life is this new daughter's quest to be a pirate, titled The Swan Princess: Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today! Here's more information about the movie:

The Swan Princess: Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today is out on DVD September 6 from Sony Home Entertainment!

With her parents away for the summer, fun-loving young Princess Alise must spend her time with Queen Uberta, training to be the perfect, proper royal... But what she really wants is to become a swashbuckling pirate! Princess Alise sets sail with Lord Rogers, Jean-Bob the frog and Speed the turtle on a bold high-seas journey filled with amazing adventure, danger and discovery. After a shipwreck leaves the brave crew stranded on a wild, mysterious island, they meet Lucas, a young boy who has been living in seclusion. Now the faithful friends must work together to escape the island and the ferociously hungry creatures that dwell there.

  1. Huh, I didn't realize they were still making more movies in this franchise! Turns out from the quiz that I'm more fit to be a princess than a pirate (yes, but why would you go OUTSIDE when you could stay INSIDE, weird pirate folk?). Of my favorites, though, I agree that the first three Swan Princess movies are the best. :)

  2. It said I'm more fit to be a princess ;) this is probably because I hate the water, and couldn't live in it, even though being stuck in a castle and serving tea would be soooo dull ;)

    1. Maybe you're not meant for the princess OR the pirate life... seamstress or archer, maybe?
