[Product Review] Herbal Essences Smooth Collection

Herbal Essences Smooth Shampoo
Herbal Essences Smooth Conditioner

About a week ago, I got a package in the mail. Free shampoo! And conditioner. Herbal Essences is working with BzzAgent. They sent me a set of their Smooth Collection shampoo and conditioner, made with rose hips, vitamin e, jojoba extracts, and 0% silicone.

Until recently, I rarely used a shampoo or conditioner brand other than the cheapest one on the shelf. This summer, I tried OGX keratin and argan oil shampoo and conditioner; this somewhat tamed a new breakage and frizz problem I was fighting. "Maybe there's something to the pricier 'name brands,'" I thought. Why not give another a try?

While a little of my frizz returned, this Herbal Essences set lives up to its promises. The brand's biggest claim is the best smelling hair on the market. It's true: even third-day hair still smells faintly of rose hips and jojoba extracts. My hair is long enough now that it blows in my face as I walk across my windy Indiana campus, and the scent is distinct and noticeable. I'm usually more for fruity than floral scents, but this rose infusion is sweet and airy. I love it.

This particular line, Smooth Collection, promises smooth, soft natural hair, and that, too, was delivered. I already have unusually soft hair, and this shampoo and conditioner duo set it off well. On a side note, the bottles of Smooth shampoo and conditioner were much bigger than I was anticipating.

I always thought name brand hair care couldn't be worth the price. Now I'm thinking of trying more Herbal Essences sets when this one runs out. My hair smells unforgettable!
